Decal option 1: F/A-18A, BuNo 162421. Modex 400 VFA-131, US Navy, USS Independence.

Decal option 2: F/A-18A, BuNo 163107, Modex 400, VFA-136, US Navy, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Remarks: This is one of many of the 1/32 decal sheets from superscale for the F/A-18A Hornet. But the problem is, there is no 1/32 F/A-18A Hornet kit available, you either have to backdate the excellent Academy F/A-18C to a A version, or you have to update the older Hasegawa kit to a real A, since that the Hasegawa kit (and the Revell kit too) are prototypes. In Detail and Scale 6 F-18 Hornet Part 1, is explained how to convert the Prototype kits to a production version.
This Superscale sheet contains two of the more colourful CAG Aircraft on their sheets. Option one is for the VFA-131 CAG Bird, their is one mistake on this option, and that's that the tailcode was AK during the single cruise of VFA-131 on the Independence with CVW-17.
The VFA-136 CAG seems to be totaly correct, it's from the 1990 cruise on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhouwer, with CVW-7.
