Review: This nice little race-plane from williams comes in a sturdy end-opening box. the kit is moulded in a soft gray plastic. Panel lines are few, and are engraved, but very crude. The back fuselage has a steeltube covered construction which is nicely moulded. the wheel doors are closed and have to be opened if you want to model it with the landing gear down. wheel well detail however isn't available. The cockpit is also very simple, with only two plates that form something of a seat and the backwall, and a control stick. There are two engine front covers included so that you can make the 1938 or 1939 Firecracker.

The building instruction is only one step, which completes the aircraft, the whole construction of the aircraft is also written, which is together with the one stage plan, easy to follow. Also included are some photo's and the history of the aircraft. Finaly there is a decal placement guide.

Since that the detail is very simple you might need to check some references and do some scratchbuilding to add some more detail in the cockpit and the wheel wells, with some work, and a bit of patience this kit will end up as a very nice aircraft, and certainly something different, between all those warplanes and jets in 1/32. It hasn't been around for a while, but is we speak (december 2008) some kits out of the Williams Brothers range are being re-released. And if it ins't being released again, you'll have to search the net or find it somewhere else.
